Devotions

This piece reveals the weight of unspoken prayers, burdens, sacrifice, and the unspoken exhaustion of being a refuge for others. Through images of bricks, altars, oaks, roots, red dust, fire, and prayer, the reader is asked what happens when the person everyone leans on finally needs somewhere to lay their own grief. At its heart, this is a piece about remembering that love does not require self-betrayal or sacrifice. Prayers are spoken over the reader.

Return to this prayerful invocation in times of needed balance and protection. The compassion of the Great Mother is never ending and rests within all of us. May all life on this planet act on behalf of the Mother. And may we always be cloaked in divine love in Her divine order.
